Objective
The principal objective of the National Park Information Foundation is to provide information on the Rondane and Dovrefjell-Sunndalsfjella national parks, adjacent areas of protected landscape and other protected areas in the district. Based on the Rondane, Dovrefjell and Sunndalsfjell mountains, it must also:

  • provide information on their natural resources, natural history and cultural heritage, as well as the way nearby settlements have traditionally used these resources
  • form an umbrella network for independent bodies that work together to fulfil the objectives of National Park Information
  • obtain funding for information work and distribute this money among those taking part in the network
  • give expert guidance and provide equipment and information to those taking part in the network
  • work closely with others who share responsibility for planning, land-use management, provision of facilities, information, guidance and surveillance with the aim of achieving the best possible contact with the general public regarding the overall management of the areas concerned (extract from the Regulations of the Foundation)
