The Femundsmark National Park Visitor Centre opened in 2005 and has premises at Røros and Elgå, where you can learn more about the park.
Røros, Sør-Trøndelag
The Centre at Røros is in the “Stenhus” in the Doktortjønna Outdoor Recreation Area, which is at walking distance from the centre of Røros. In the building, you can see an exhibition about the national park and find information on the fauna and flora and possible walks in the park. Doktortjønna is a small lake where you can row, canoe and fish without charge. This branch of the Centre is run by Naturitas AS.

Elgå, Hedmark
The Centre at Elgå is just a stone’s throw from beautiful Lake Femund in Engerdal, and is a fine starting point for trips in the park.
Aims
The Femundsmark National Park Visitor Centre at Elgå provides information on national parks, nature conservation, outdoor recreation and other relevant matters concerned with environmental management. This is intended to raise awareness for policies relating to conservation, outdoor awareness for policies relating to conservation, outdoor recreation and the environment.
