The Breheim Centre is a good starting point if you are going to visit the Jostedal Glacier National Park or trek on the ice cap. In addition to giving information on the park, the Centre cooperates with Jostedalen Breførarlag to arrange trekking trips on the ice cap.

The Breheim Centre is designed to simulate two towers of ice separated by a crevasse. Inside the plank-faced walls you will find information on ice and glaciers, and particularly on the Jostedalsbreen Ice Cap. The Centre also shows how people have adapted to living close to the glacier, and you can see exhibits dealing with droving tracks, the ptarmigan and the Black Death. The Breheim Centre opened in 1993 and was authorised as a visitor centre for the Jostedal Glacier National Park in 1997.

Aim
The Centre aims to give visitors valuable, interesting information on natural history and cultural history, and inspire them to go out and enjoy the national park.
